The Company:

planetary is powering the bioeconomy. We are a venture capital backed bioeconomy company operating across Switzerland, Germany and the UK. By building industrial-scale fermentation-based biomanufacturing capacity and IP globally, we are shifting the production systems from livestock to non-animal proteins and replacing fossil-fuel derived materials with bio-products.

The Role:

As the Lead Project Engineer, you will be an integral part of the roll-out of planetary’s fermentation production plants. You will lead the overall project management of the capacity expansion at our Swiss protein production facility, and expand capacity by re-applying the concept globally.

The Position:

• Oversees CAPEX implementation projects: controlling basic and detail engineering, as well as construction and commissioning
• Leads initial production ramp-up planning and coordination of new fermentation facilities
• Coordinates external parties (EPC, supplier, regulator, industry partners) and internal partiers (engineering, science, management teams)
• Defines the list of dependent projects, processes, and decisions that need to be completed to reach the overall project goals.
• Manages project deliverables through effective constructions of timelines, schedules, deliverables and stakeholder management. .
• Coordinates the identification and resolution of project risks and issues. Effectively utilizes the project team to drive continuous improvement and facilitate resolution.
• Reporting directly to C-level

Qualifications and Experience:

• Masters degree in Engineering, Science, Business Management, or related
• Familiar with reading and producing P&IDs, PFDs, MEBs, TEAs, LCAs
• 10+ years of business experience across multiple disciplines and CAPEX project management
• Sector experience in food production, agricultural commodity conversion systems or pharma construction projects with a focus on industrial bioprocessing
• Operational experience in production environments or microbial fermentation
• Previous project management experience and leadership of cross-functional teams
• Full working proficiency in English with German and French a plus
