As a “Technician in Dairy Processes”, you will plan and conduct trials run at Pilot plant to translate scientific concepts into food product prototypes, ensuring safety and good manufacturing practices in the pilot plant.

A Day in the Life of a Technician in Dairy Processes

• Advise project managers, scientists, and laboratory technicians in selecting the appropriate technology, equipment, and technical solutions to produce food product prototypes with high chance of rapid implementation
• Contribute to ideation through early involvement in ideation process
• Plan trials in Nestlé Trial Management System according to Design of Experiment
• Settle the line accordingly and conduct trials
• Be a key player in continuous improvement to ensure optimal contribution to projects
• Be proactive to anticipate potential problems. Autonomous and creative in solving problems.
• Propose technical modifications and improvements on equipment
• Stimulate collaborations and competences development with Food process engineer (Scale-up), mechanical workshop, other R&D centers and external partners
• Ensure compliance to Nestlé standards, ISO and FSSC22000
• Be a model to drive Safety, Health, Environment and Food Safety

What will make you successful

• Milk technologist (CFC, Brevet or Diplôme) or Technical degree related to food or biotechnology
• Knowledge in liquid and powder dairy processes and technology (i.e. UHT, aseptic filling, spray drying), knowledge of any other food technologies would be a big asset
• Min 2 years’ experience in R&D environment or production
• Up to date knowledge of quality, safety and hygiene and environment requirements
• Significant exposure in different project and support activities of the organization would be an asset
• Organized, capable of handling multiple tasks/assignments
• Good team spirit and good communicator
• Ability to communicate in English and French
