Position Overview

Are you passionate about the food system and its impact on our world? This is your chance to get involved and deepen your understanding of one of the most important challenges of our time.

Swiss Food & Nutrition Valley is looking for a motivated student to join our team on a long-term basis (10–20% FTE). This flexible role offers a variety of responsibilities—from administrative support and communications to desk research and the development of tools to scale our impact, based on the evolving needs of our projects.

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and confident, managing multiple small projects independently, while also collaborating closely with the team. A minimum commitment of 1.5 years is preferred, making this an ideal opportunity for someone eager to grow with us and contribute to meaningful change.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative & Team Support

• Assist with meeting scheduling, preparation, and follow-up (agendas, logistics, notes)
• Help format reports, presentations, and documents for internal or external use
• Support event preparation and logistics coordination (online and in-person)

Communications & Marketing

• Update website content (text, images, links)
• Assist in creating simple visuals (for presentations, social media, newsletters)

Research & Innovation Support

• Conduct short research tasks on topics related to food systems, innovation, or ecosystem partners
• Summarise findings to support strategy, reporting, or partner communications
• Benchmark tools, platforms, or best practices to support the growth of the association

Scaling Tools & Platform Support

• Assist in updating and maintaining scaling tools (e.g., job platform, SFNV navigator, facility-sharing)

Profile

• Currently enrolled as a student
• Organised, reliable, and proactive
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working independently and managing a variety of shifting tasks
• Familiar with tools like Canva, Google Suite, and Airtable
• A strong interest in food, sustainability, and innovation is essential
• Fluency in English (French/German a plus)
