Your Mission
As a Senior Analytical Chemist, you’ll support our research and development efforts focused on food and process sample analysis. You’ll collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to develop and validate analytical methods, ensuring data accuracy and reliability. This role is crucial for improving quality control methodologies and advancing our projects.

Responsibilities
– Develop and validate analytical methods for analyzing compounds such as fibres, proteins, and fats
– Conduct experiments and analyze ingredient samples using techniques like HPLC, NIR, titration, selective extraction, and NMR
– Facilitate discussions with peers to interpret data and provide insights
– Troubleshoot and resolve analytical issues to improve methods and processes
– Ensure team compliance with safety protocols and laboratory standards, including lab management and supply orders
– Oversee Quality Control for production with our CMO
– Establish and maintain internal Quality Control procedures to ensure product quality through internal and external analysis
– Support legal and regulatory processes, such as FDA approvals
– Provide measurements and documentation crucial to our growth strategy
– Mentor and support the Analytical Chemistry Intern’s professional development
– Offer in-depth scientific support and conduct literature reviews, e.g., antioxidant screening and enzyme activity monitoring

What You Need to Succeed
– Master’s degree or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Chemistry, Food Technology, or a related field, with a few years of relevant work experience
– Expertise in analytical techniques such as NMR, FTNIR, HPLC, colourimetric assays, GCMS, protein analysis, and microbiology
– Proficiency in analytical techniques for quantification and characterization of chemical components (proximate analysis, protein/polysaccharide/lipid characterization, microbial safety, trace elements)
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
– Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work accurately and efficiently
– Proactive and entrepreneurial attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to change
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying results and conclusions to peers, junior scientists, and non-scientists alike
– Leadership skills and enthusiasm for developing others
– Computer skills: data analysis, Excel, coding, and macros—valuable for automating analytical processes
